What is the Chirp Wheel
The Chirp Wheel is a popular little item that can be used for various purposes. It can be used for yoga, a massage, and for spine pain relief. You can use it for flexing the spine, align the bones in the spine and traction too.
If you think you don’t know much of it – think the Plexus Wheel+. This was the first device that was popular as a rolling wheel, and it was just rebranded in 2019 into the Chirp Wheel.
As a massage wheel, it features a rugged injection-molded ABS plastic inner rim. It also features a rubber tread on the external parts. There is some texturing on the unit which makes it comfortable for using yet it is strong enough to work your muscles.
You can choose from 3 different types of the same wheel – a large one, a medium one and a small one (6, 10 or 12-inches). Depending on your own needs and preferences, you can choose to get a pack of three too.
- Thick and comfortable for use
- Good weight capacity
- Good warranty
- REALLY expensive
In terms of what it does and its functionality, we can say that it is great for a focused massage. However, it can be a bit expensive for the purpose it serves. So, if you don’t want to max out your card for a single massage unit, we put together some other alternatives you might find handy.
The Best Chirp Wheel Alternatives:
1. UpCircleSeven Yoga Wheel
There are three different sizes of the UpCircleSeven yoga wheel, and all of them are highly functional at giving you a good back exercise. The unit is incredibly versatile, and we really loved that it is amazingly strong too. The unit can withstand a total weight of up to 550 lbs which is more than it actually needs, and yet, it is surprisingly nice. It is a really reliable wheel that will never keep you feeling the discomfort in your stomach due to being unstable.
With the wheel, you can do all sorts of back exercises, and you can do yoga poses with ease and the support you need.
What we couldn’t help but notice is that it has really thick padding too. It nicely cushions the palms or the back and yet, it brings a lot of massaging features since it is also firm enough for doing so.
Lastly, we should mention that the unit is also sweat-resistant. The padding is well-designed in a way to be resistant to moisture altogether. This means that you cannot slip from the wheel. Also, the unit will always smell fresh, unlike other, lower-quality pieces.
- Strong and durable
- Incredible weight capacity
- Not beginner-friendly
2. Hokuto Wheel
The Hokuto Wheel is absolutely one of the best choices for a yoga wheel. It is also a multi-purpose unit with a lot of durability. You can use it to have a better balance or flexibility, or you can use to get a good back massage. We suggest it to yoga practitioners, as it easily stretches the spine and the ligaments.
The unit is made from PP materials which are incredibly resistant. You should also know that the outer ring is made from anti-skid EVA which is eco-friendly. It is comfortable to use and great for beginners too. It reduces the stress and pressure in the spine, and can be used on a daily basis.
- Great for yoga asanas
- Not comfortable for extended use due to external texture
3. Gonex Wheel
The Gonex wheel is a good purchase if you are looking for a reliable wheel that will serve the purpose of a yoga wheel and a back massager. Thanks to its incredible design, you can use the unit to stretch your lower back and improve your core muscles. In addition to this, the unit comes in a size of 13X5” which is thicker than other wheel but yet, it can serve the purpose better. It is durable enough to help you perform different exercises and movements without feeling that you might fall off.
Also, it is made from high-quality PP material and it is highly durable. It can be used by anyone as long as they don’t weigh more than 33lbs. It has a sweat-resistant, anti-slip textured surface which ensures that you are comfortable using it for a lot of time.
What we really loved is that the unit comes with a workout guide which you don’t need, but you’ll love.
- Good for stretching back
- Can be used by all skill-levels
- Anti-slip texture
- Comfortable for use
- Good value for money
- Should not be used by lumbar injury patients
4. Pete’s Choice Wheel
Another wheel that comes with an extra workout guide is Pete’s Choice one. It is an incredibly budget-friendly yet effective wheel. We loved that it can be used for various yoga positions and back massage exercises with ease. You should also know that the wheel is made of high-quality, durable ABS material which ensures that you are stable and comfortable while using it.
- Comes with guide
- Not good for beginners
5. ATIVAFIT Wheel
After doing our Chirp Wheel review, we came to the conclusion that the Ativafit wheel is a good alternative if you are looking for something cheaper. The whole unit is great in terms of design, and you can choose from several colors and designs too.
In addition to this, it is made from high-quality materials. Specifically, the manufacturer used TPE (which is environmentally-friendly) in the making. So, the device is completely comfortable and great to use. It has thick padding which protects your back and provides a safe experience.
- Comfortable for extended use
- Great value for money
- Several designs to choose from
- Can withstand weight of only 220lbs
Chirp Wheel Review – Conclusion
That concludes our chirp wheel review. The Chirp wheel is a good piece, but then again, it can be too expensive for such a small piece of workout equipment. Instead, the other choices offer basically the same quality without requiring you to empty out your budget. So, if you have the money to spend on the Chirp Wheel, feel free to do so, but all the other units can offer the same quality and stability for a lower price.
